A. By Philtranco Shuttle Bus

1. To Clark Airport

The Philtranco Shuttle Bus runs daily Manila-Clark-Manila trips aside from its other North/South Luzon destinations. Check www.philtranco.com.ph for timetables, routes and fees.

Where? You can either choose to depart from Pasay or SM Megamall in Ortigas to the Clark Airport in Pampanga.

*If you want to get on from SM Megamall, the Philtranco buses stop at a “terminal” (or parking lot) at the back of SM Megamall Building A. It just looks like a waiting shed with a couple of benches, really.

*The Philtranco Bus Terminal in Pasay is located along EDSA. You can commute from the Taft Ave. MRT station by hopping on a Malibay signed jeepney. Don’t forget to tell the driver where to drop you off!

How Much? As of writing (January 2012), bus tickets cost

***P400/one-way to and from SM Megamall

***P450/one-way to and from the Pasay Terminal

When?

Pasay

Ortigas (SM Megamall)

2. From Clark Airport

Upon arrival, head to the Philtranco Shuttle Bus Booth just by the arrival exit. The last bus leaves at about 8:00PM.

B. By Regular Bus (+ Walking + Extracurricular Commuting)

1. To Clark Airport

Take a bus to the the terminal at Dau, Pampanga then look for a jeepney-for-hire (otherwise known in those areas as a “taxi”) to Clark Airport. These exclusive jeepneys may cost you up to P200/jeep for a 15min ride regardless of how many passengers there are.

2. From Clark Airport

***a. Inside the Airport – if you’re lucky enough to bag an early arrival, various bus lines besides Philtranco have booths which are still open right by the exit of the arrival area.

***b. Outside the Airport – The more options the better, right? This is our first hand experience of the cheaper yet more challenging way. Hey, at least it’s scenic and rewarding.

******B1. Take a 15 min. walk from the airport up to the Main Gate of the Clark Freeport Zone. Cross the highway then hail a jeepney heading to Balibago where you can take another jeepney to the Dau Bus Terminal. There are buses departing for parts of Metro Manila such as Cubao or Pasay 24Hrs/day.

******B2. Look for a passenger jeepney around the Clark Freeport Zone— not necessarily right outside the airport arrival area— if you don’t want to walk all the way to the Main Gate. Always ask first if it’s for hire (wherein you end up paying more) or if it’s a passenger jeep (with the standard fare).

How Much? (estimates)

***Jeep from CFZ to ‘Balibago Jeepney Terminal’: P10.00, Jeep from Balibago to Dau, Pampanga: P12.00, Bus from Dau to Pasay, M.M.: P140.00

C. By Taxi

Metered and unmetered taxis are available around the Clark Airport. It may be convenient, but be prepared to dish out an unreasonable amount of money.

-

-

D. By Car

1. To and From Clark Airport

***a. via the North Luzon Express Way (NLEX) which extends until Sta. Ines in Mabalacat, Pampanga. Take either Angeles Exit or Dau Exit. Angeles Exit drives through Balibago before reaching the Clark Freeport Zone.

***b. via SCTEx. Exit NLEX via Dau then take the SCTEx, and exit SCTEx via Clark North.

Parking? Yes. For a fee. Overnight or daily rates are applicable.

E. By the Insanely Hard-to-Get DMIA Shuttle Bus

Are you for real?

There is this so-called “Official DMIA Shuttle Bus” which has trips to and from the Clark Airport-SM Clark-Dau, Pampanga. It is an air-conditioned jeepney which takes passengers 24Hrs/day… supposedly.

We’re 80% positive the jeepney we saw at the airport upon arrival back to the Philippines was indeed this potential urban legend.

We might have just ignored it thinking it was just one of those expensive jeepneys-for-hire! *palmtoforeheadslap* While walking (limping) towards the CFZ Main Gate, we think we spotted it on the road again.

Trickster Mister? Spot the dude holding up the “Dau Terminal, SM Clark” placard. He could be THE ONE.

How Much? P50.00 max.

-It’s a mysterious red blob.-
